The Chicago Bulls and the New York Knicks did not like each other in the nineties. It probably all started in 1982 when Michael Jordan, a freshman at the University of North Carolina, hit the game winning shot against Patrick Ewing‘s Georgetown Hoyas.
Both great players eventually became the cornerstones of two NBA teams in large media markets. Over his career, Ewing was never able to beat Jordan. The frustration, as well as his teammates, was more evident with every passing year. Between 1989 and 1996 the Knicks and Bulls squared off six times in the playoffs, with the Knicks only winning in the 1984 Eastern Conference Semi-Finals.
