In the 1980’s and early 1990’s there were initially questions as to if the Chicago Bulls provided a solid enough support system around shooting guard Michael Jordan to get him at least a few titles. But those questions were quickly answered when Jordan and the Bulls overwhelmed the Detroit Pistons in the 1991 Eastern Conference Finals and then the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals.
The Bulls would go on to win two more titles after beating the Lakers in the 1991 NBA Finals. But Jordan would have his first retirement from his playing days with the Bulls after winning their third straight NBA Championship in 1993, this time over Charles Barkley and the Phoenix Suns.
