Head coach Jim Boylen and the Chicago Bulls were in cahoots to keep this team as one of the worst in the NBA this season. Boylen undeservingly received a three-year contract extension last offseason. Although he didn’t get much of a chance to make an immediate impact after the firing of former head coach Fred Hoiberg, Boylen wasn’t a success this time around.
The Bulls held a record of 22-43 entering the novel coronavirus pandemic-induced NBA hiatus back on March 11. That helped Boylen accumulate a total record of 39-84 in around a season and a half at the helm in Chicago.
