Ricky and I enjoyed a cathartic 45ish minutes talking about the Fred Hoiberg firing Monday afternoon, which featured plenty of swearing and complaining about the Bulls, but then we had to button it up a bit for an appearance on CLTV’s Sports Feed with Josh Frydman and Jarrett Payton.
The first segment focused mostly on Hoiberg and how things played out during his Bulls tenure. While Hoiberg clearly has his flaws as a coach and didn’t exactly do a good job, he also wasn’t put in a position to succeed and the timing of his firing was strange as some of the Bulls’ actual NBA players get healthy:
The second part featured pointed criticism of the Bulls’ management and how they’ve been operating over the years, plus a brief look ahead at what to expect out of Jim Boylen’s Bulls:
The Bulls are back in action Tuesday night in Indiana, and I’m fully expecting a spirited (heh) performance thanks to the post-firing bump.
