Canadiens take off to begin season, make a minor trade

The Canadiens held a quick practice Wednesday before boarding a plane to Buffalo for the season opener against the Sabres on Thursday.
There was a lot of special teams work and zone coverage, but generally it was a practice that resembled a morning skate.
While we were in the dressing room talking to the players, the Canadiens made a trade, sending defenceman Zach Redmond to the Sabres for left wing Nicolas Deslauriers, who will report to Laval. Deslauriers, a native of LaSalle, has played 211 games for the Sabres over the past four seasons and scored 12 goals and 30 points.
