The Bulls haven’t used the NBA Developmental League much, preferring to keep some of their young talent in-house.
But Wednesday will signal a sea of change, so to speak, as they will announce their own D-League team, which will have a home in the village of Hoffman Estates starting next season.
The team will play at the Sears Centre, the team will announce at an afternoon ceremony at the United Center, and the franchise is holding a contest over the nickname of the new team. Several Bulls officials hinted before the season they would be more active as far as the D-League, having been affiliated with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants but rarely using it.
