Rajon Rondo sat out the entire second half of the Bulls’ Friday loss to the Indiana Pacers after an awful first half in which he scored no points and totaled one rebound, one assist and one turnover, logging a -20 in plus-minus in 10 minutes. After the game, head coach Fred Hoiberg wouldn’t commit to a starting lineup for their next game, a New Year’s Eve home matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks.
Now he has.
Hoiberg said before Saturday’s game that Michael Carter-Williams will start at point guard in Rondo’s place, marking his first start of the season, and Rondo’s first time not starting in a game in which he was available since his rookie season, a Boston Celtics loss to the Charlotte Bobcats on March 31, 2007.
