Otto Porter Jr. has no idea how this season’s story will end for him.
But it will undoubtedly end for him, at least his time with the Bulls.
The veteran forward picked up his $28.4 player option during the abbreviated offseason, and every indication is that the new front-office regime will happily allow Porter to jump into a very talented free-agent pool, likely swimming elsewhere next season.
Until then, however, both sides need each other.
Porter needs to show he can stay healthy and re-establish himself as a glue piece that can still help a team on both ends of the floor, and the Bulls need him to help teach a relatively young core how to finally start playing winning basketball.
