Luke Kornet has been out of the Bulls rotation for more than a week.
That’s not about to change anytime soon.
The team announced on Monday that the 7-foot-2 center underwent a surgical procedure to address a sinus obstruction. According to the franchise, Kornet broke his nose back on Dec. 19 of last year while playing for the Knicks. As far as a timetable for a return, coach Jim Boylen could not provide that.
The Bulls signed Kornet in the offseason, giving him a two-year, $4.5 million deal. He started the regular season as a key reserve with the second unit, but quickly fell out of that role with some less than average showings.
