It didn't take Bobby Portis long to make his presence felt.
A seven-game, two-and-a-half-week absence was put in the rear view mirror almost immediately as Portis attempted a layup, grabbed his own rebound and was fouled in his first 12 seconds.
Much of his 20-minute stint on Sunday afternoon was the game. The fourth-year forward scored 17 points on 6 of 11 shooting, grabbed five rebounds and added a steal in his first game back since Dec. 19.
"He’s aggressive. He just loves to play," head coach Jim Boylen said. "He’s got a nose for the ball and he plays facing, he can play with his back to the basket, he’s a versatile guy, he’s a matchup nightmare and he did that today.
