It’s too early to consider Antonio Blakeney a part of the Bulls’ future. But in a year when the organization was focused more on player development than wins and losses, the 21-year-old stated his case with a monster year in the G League.
That year was acknowledged Thursday afternoon when Blakeney was named the G-League’s Rookie of the Year. In 32 games he averaged 32.0 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 38.3 minutes. He led the league in scoring, topped 40 points seven different times and helped the Windy City Bulls to a 17-15 record in games he appeared in.
