It’s only fitting that on a night where the Boston Celtics are playing in a playoff game and the Chicago Bulls are at home watching, that we reminisce about one of the best playoff performances in NBA history.
The ’86 Boston Celtics were the #1 seed in the East and were heavy favorites over the #8 seeded Chicago Bulls. What the Celtics didn’t know is that they would encounter one of their biggest fights of the entire playoff run. Michael Jordan was the one who brought that fight, by the way.
The Chicago Bulls ended up losing the game 135-131 to the eventual 1986 NBA Champions, but the biggest story of the game was that 23-year-old Michael Jordan put up a playoff record 63 points – a record that still holds today.
