Not that it was a surprise given the opponent, but the Chicago Bulls clinched a playoff spot Wednesday night. Needing a win (or a Miami Heat loss), the Bulls picked up a 112-73 win over the Brooklyn Nets.
The seed the Bulls will get is still unclear. That will depend on what happens in the Indiana Pacers vs. Atlanta Hawks game. A Pacers win puts the Bulls in the No. 8 seed, while a Pacers loss gives the Bulls the No. 7. The Pacers currently lead in the 4th, so the Bulls will likely get the No. 8 seed.
The Bulls jumped out to a 27-13 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. Jimmy Butler was the star, with 25 points and six rebounds. Nikola Mirotic nearly had a double-double with 9 points, 9 rebounds and three steals.
The Nets' bench actually outplayed the starters. Caris LeVert had 10 points, but the rest of the starters only combined for 21 points. The bench, led by 20 points from Archie Goodwin had 42 combined points.
