Kevin Love trade rumors look to dominate this offseason with reports surfacing that Love has given the Minnesota Timberwolves a blunt ultimatum — trade him or lose him to free agency. The Chicago Bulls are prime contenders for Love’s services, so let’s take a look at what a Love trade would mean for the Windy City.
How he'd fit:
Kevin Love would function as a franchise-altering level upgrade at the power forward position. Imagine the spacing that would be created with both Noah and Love banging down low. Having both of those guys on the floor would make it really easy for head coach Tom Thibodeau to ease Derrick Rose back into the proceedings.
The Bulls would have one of the most vaunted starting frontcourts in NBA history if they can pull this off, along with having the multi-talented Taj Gibson on the bench. Depth-wise, this Bulls team would automatically vault into Indiana/Miami territory -- and perhaps higher than that, ceiling-wise.
Likelihood of a deal:
The Bulls will amnesty Carlos Boozer in less than a second if they feel like they can legitimately put together a package to wrest Love away from the Wolves that doesn't include the aging power forward. However, the most likely scenario would be a Boozer-for-Love swap -- along with the Bulls trading away their cache of first-round picks (their own 2014 pick, the Bobcats' 2014 first-rounder, and a future Kings first-rounder.
Love has come out and said that he is "intrigued" by the possibility of playing alongside Joakim Noah and a potentially-health Derrick Rose in 2014-15...and the Bulls will be just as intrigued about making a deal themselves.
Likelihood: Very, very likely
