Despite losing to the Boston Celtics 106-101 on Saturday night, the Chicago Bulls got a welcome contribution out of journeyman point guard Aaron Brooks.
Brooks dropped 26 on the Celts, 19 in the fourth quarter alone, keeping the Chicago Bulls in the contest with a couple of heat check deep threes in the final 12 minutes.
“I came in here lacking confidence,” Brooks said, via ESPN.com. “Even when I doubted myself, [Thibodeau] was there to tell me, ‘You know what? I’ve watched you play, you’ve done well’ and just to keep working hard. It’s been a breath of fresh air for me.”
With Derrick Rose back in the lineup, Brooks' role will be less prominent. However, he has been a revelation for Chicago both from a shooting perspective and from an on-court (and off-court) leadership perspective.
With a bevy of talent on the roster, Brooks has a great chance to play relaxed, loose basketball while helping the Bulls towards their ultimate goal of an NBA championship.
