Blackhawks forward prospect Philipp Kurashev and Switzerland fell 5-2 to Russia in the bronze-medal game at the World Junior Championship tournament on Saturday at Rogers Arena in Vancouver.
Kirill Slepets scored a hat trick, including a shorthanded goal with an empty net. Nikita Shashkov and Klim Kostin (Blues) each tallied once for Russia, who improved to 8-0 in bronze-medal games.
Valentin Nussbaumer and Yannick Bruschweiler both scored for Switzerland in the second period. The Swiss entered the game with a chance to medal for only the second time in tournament history since winning bronze in 1998.
