The Blackhawks have been reluctant to put Alex DeBrincat and Patrick Kane together in the past. Part of it was because separating them offered more balance. Another part was that they both like to play with the puck and there's only one out there. But perhaps the most important reason was that they haven't had a center who could complement their games well.
Until now.
After acquiring Dylan Strome, the Blackhawks wasted no time in putting him as the second line center alongside his former OHL linemate DeBrincat and Kane. And they immediately clicked in their first game together on Tuesday against the Vegas Golden Knights.
