Patrick Kane scored his 400th career NHL goal to lift the Blackhawks to a 5-4 overtime victory over the Red Wings on Wednesday night at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.
Jonathan Toews rushed up the ice and was denied by Jimmy Howard before finding Erik Gustafsson at the hashmarks of the left faceoff circle. The defenseman sent the puck to a wide-open Kane near the net to deliver the game-winner with 2:18 remaining in the three-on-three extra session.
Kane tallied his 399th goal during the second period to give the Blackhawks a 4-1 lead heading into the intermission.
