Trevor van Riemsdyk made a splash as an unknown coming out of training camp last fall. Now he'll have a few more seasons to see what he can do with the Blackhawks.
Van Riemsdyk agreed to a two-year extension with the Blackhawks on Tuesday afternoon. The deal expires at the end of the 2017-18 season. Van Riemsdyk is entering the final year of his current deal, which carries a cap hit of $925,000.

With the Blackhawks likely having less depth at defensemen this coming season, van Riemsdyk could get a great opportunity to show the team what he can do.
