The Blackhawks just traded two first round picks, a second-rounder (promptly used on Carolina’s Jake Bean) and Adam Boqvist to the Blue Jackets for Seth Jones, the 32nd overall pick in 2021 and a sixth.
So ... that happened.
If you want to look on the bright side (hey, we’re trying), Seth Jones was at one time a legitimate No. 1 defenseman in the NHL, which shouldn’t be ignored. It was three seasons ago, but it’s still objectively true. However, the Blackhawks are banking a lot on Jones being able to return to that form and that’s especially risky given his fall from grace the last few seasons.
