In just a few days the Chicago Blackhawks are going to take the ice against the Edmonton Oilers for the best of five series to determine who makes it to the Stanley Cup playoffs. Just the fact that it is happening is amazing, but there is so much more to it.
The Chicago Blackhawks did not really earn a playoff spot this year. They are at the bottom of the standings and are the last team to make the playoffs from the west. One of the only reasons we are here is because the NHL decided to have the top 12 teams in each conference instead of the top 6 teams from each division.
