Star struck: Blackhawks allow four first-period goals in pummeling

Vernon Fiddler had two goals and Colton Sceviour had a goal and an assist as the Dallas Stars handed the Blackhawks another awful loss, this time 6-2 on Tuesday night.

The Stars, who clinched a playoff berth with Tuesday’s victory, now lead the Central Division with 97 points. Stars goaltender Kari Lehtonen stopped 30 of 32 shots for the victory. The Blackhawks remain in third with 91 points, just four ahead of the surging Nashville Predators (87 points).

In a series that featured three lopsided Stars victories coming into this one, Dallas added another. They scored goals 25 seconds apart (Sceviour’s and Fiddler’s first) en route to a 4-0 first-period lead.
