Chicago Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman’s confidence hasn’t wavered when it comes to re-signing Artemi Panarin.
Just because Bowman was unable to work out deals with Andrew Shaw and Brandon Saad and ultimately traded them in the end, he still firmly believes he can work out a deal with Panarin, who is set to become a restricted free agent after the 2016-17 season.
“We’re always confident,” Bowman said on Tuesday. “You go into a negotiation expecting to get a deal done. That’s the way I’ve been in the past and that’s the way I am now.”
Time is running out to get a deal done before the season, but Bowman has negotiated contracts during the season, too.
