The Blackhawks lost one of their all-time greats on Tuesday after it was announced Stan Mikita died at the age of 78. It was also a big loss for the hockey community in general, as Mikita was voted to the NHL's top 100 greatest players list in 2007.
Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews were among those that took to Twitter to offer their condolences on Mikita's passing, as did former Blackhawks great Jeremy Roenick:
Playing for the Blackhawks means the world to young players because we get to follow the greats like Stan Mikita.
