Scott Darling will start in net for the Chicago Blackhawks when they visit the Boston Bruins on Friday at TD Garden, coach Joel Quenneville said after the team’s practice Thursday.
Darling, 28, is 11-4-2 with a 2.34 goals-against average and .924 save percentage in 20 games this season. Darling stopped 39 of 40 shots in a 2-1 home win against the Carolina Hurricanes on Jan. 6. He also allowed one goal in 11:49 the third period in relief against the Washington Capitals on Jan. 13.
For the most part this season, Darling has started during a back-to-back or when Corey Crawford was injured.
