Scott Darling holds off Penguins to extend Blackhawks’ winning streak

Here’s a breakdown of the Blackhawks’ 4-1 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins at the United Center on Wednesday.

Game-changing plays

1. The Blackhawks were the first on the board. Nick Schmaltz stole the puck from Jake Guentzel in the neutral zone, quickly got it up to Patrick Kane and Kane took care of the rest, beating Marc-Andre Fleury from the left circle at 8:49 of the second period. The Penguins evened the game later in the period when Scott Wilson got around Blackhawks defenseman Michal Kempny and elevated the puck over Scott Darling’s shoulder with a backhanded shot.
