ST. LOUIS – David Rundblad smiled this morning when talking to the media.
That’s not a facial expression he’s often shared with the media this season.
Rundblad is enjoying himself. He’s playing in the Stanley Cup playoffs. He’s playing with confidence. Just as important, Chicago Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville has confidence in him.
Hockey wasn’t so enjoyable not that long ago for Rundblad. It was a difficult winter for him. He was being healthy scratched. His confidence was gone. His play had followed. There were no smiles.
Rundblad resuscitated his game and possibly his career by making an odd choice.
