Patrick Kane is really good. And in his case, sometimes that is really bad.
That’s because regardless of what linemates Kane has had, that line has generally been very productive. Thus, the Blackhawks don’t often feel the need for any kind of consistency in finding him suitable wingers and/or centers.
Sure, there are outliers.
From 2015 to 2017, the line of Artemi Panarin, Artem Anisimov and Patrick Kane consistently stayed together. And it consistently produced.
Prior to that, during the 2015 Stanley Cup season, the Blackhawks found some steadiness in a line of Kane paired with Brad Richards and Kris Versteeg.
