Report: Brandon Davidson to attend Blackhawks camp on PTO basis

The Blackhawks are bringing in defenseman Brandon Davidson to training camp on a professional tryout basis and are prepared to sign him to a one-year, one-way contract if he performs well, according to Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal. He reportedly had 10 PTO options on the table and chose Chicago.

Davidson, 27, had four goals and three assists in 51 games last season with the Montreal Canadiens, Edmonton Oilers and New York Islanders, and averaged 16:49 of ice time per game. He also set a career high with 105 hits and registered 89 blocked shots, which would have ranked fifth on the Blackhawks last season.
