The Blackhawks have added another forward, reportedly signing Viktor Tikhonov to a one-year deal.
Elliotte Friedman reported that the one-year deal was worth $1.04 million.
The name should sound familiar; Tikhonov is named after his grandfather, the legendary coach of those dominating Soviet teams from the 1970s-80s.
The 27-year-old Tikhonov last played in the NHL in the 2008-09 season, when he recorded eight goals and eight assists in 61 games with the Arizona Coyotes. He has played the last four seasons with Saint Petersburg in the Kontinental Hockey League. He had eight goals and 16 assists in 49 games last season, adding a goal and an assist in 15 postseason contests.
