ST. LOUIS -- This went just about exactly as expected. If Game 1 was any indication, the first-round series between two Western Conference powers in the Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues will be a long one. It took all of regulation and 9:04 into overtime for the first goal of the series to be scored. And it was a huge one for the Blues, with David Backes ending it.
How it happened: In a game in which the Blues too often passed on shots to make the extra pass, it was a sharp-angle shot from Backes the ended it.
