Semyon Varlamov stopped all 29 shots he saw and Patrick Kane’s point streak ended at a franchise-record 26 games as the Colorado Avalanche beat the Blackhawks, 3-0, on Tuesday night.
There seemed something fitting about a lengthy, successful Blackhawks streak ending against the Avalanche. Colorado ended the Blackhawks’ unbeaten streak during the 2013 season.
Corey Crawford took his first loss in his last five starts. Matt Duchene’s goal 14:30 into the first period ended Crawford’s shutout streak at 155 minutes, 16 seconds. Zach Redmond added another for the Avs 1:43 into the second period.
The Blackhawks had been getting more balanced scoring and chemistry on their lines lately.
