NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Blackhawks’ ceremonial Wednesday evening ended with a loss. On Friday, they returned the favor to another team commemorating a big night.
Artem Anisimov scored his first goal in a Blackhawks uniform and Patrick Kane scored the overtime game-winner — his second of the night — as the Blackhawks beat the New York Islanders 3-2 on Friday night.
The Islanders were celebrating their inaugural regular-season game in their new home, Barclays Center, and for most of the night they looked to be the more consistent team. Still, the Blackhawks never trailed in this one.
