There has been plenty of power shifting around the NHL during this busy offseason, but the Western Conference remains deeper and more cutthroat than the East. The West flexed its muscles this season by holding the defending champion Los Angeles Kings out of the postseason entirely.

Although two of the top three scorers in the NHL hail from Eastern Conference squads, the West still has plenty of forwards stuffing the stat sheet and has plenty of excellent two-way forwards as well.
