ST. LOUIS – The NHL has completed its review of the Patrick Kane investigation and now considers the matter “closed,” according to a statement the league released on Wednesday afternoon.
The league began its own review on Kane in early November, after Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita announced that his office would not charge Kane; a woman accused Kane of rape in early August.
The NHL review included an in-person meeting between Kane and NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, which occurred on Monday. Here is the league’s statement:
“Based on its review, including the determination made by the Erie County District Attorney not to pursue charges, the NHL has concluded that the allegations made against Kane were unfounded.
