Former Chicago Blackhawks defenseman James Wisniewski was named to the United States men’s team for the 2018 Winter Olympics from Feb. 9-25 in PyeongChang, South Korea.
Wisniewski, who was drafted by Chicago in the fifth round in 2002, scored 56 points in 168 games across parts of four seasons with the Hawks.
Kendall Coyne, a Palos Heights native, was also named to Americans women’s team, while Josh Misiewicz (La Grange), Kevin McKee (Chicago) and Brody Roybal (Northlake) will play for the Paralympics team. McKee and Roybal won gold at the 2014 Sochi Games.
The Chicago Blackhawks return to action Wednesday against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
