Some hockey players become attached to a specific stick curve and won’t ever mess with it regardless of how they’re playing.
Marian Hossa isn’t one of those people. Over the course of his 19 NHL seasons, he wouldn't even guess how many stick curves he’s tried.
“So many, so many,” Hossa said recently.
Hossa came about his current stick curve (which refers to the shape of the blade of the stick) thanks to some curiosity. When defenseman Michal Kempny joined the Blackhawks this season, Hossa happened to see Kempny’s stick curve and it reminded him of one of his past curves.
