There aren't a lot of happy success stories that came out of the 2014 White Sox bullpen. Opening day closer Matt Lindstrom, as well as hard-throwing Maikel Cleto, were done as major league pitchers once the season wrapped. Ronald Belisario and Donnie Veal barely got another few weeks on a big league roster in the ensuing years. And what should have been a breakout season for Daniel Webb spiraled into a tale of unrealized potential before he tragically died last week.
From this pot of disappointing results, Zach Putnam — truly great but beset by elbow troubles — and the venerable Jake Petricka stand out as the highlights, but have had increasing trouble getting out on the mound.
