Kris Versteeg, who won two Stanley Cup championships with the Blackhawks in 2010 and 2015, signed a one-year AHL contract with the Rockford IceHogs on Monday.
Versteeg split last season between Avangard Omsk in the KHL and Växjö Lakers HC in the SHL. He had seven goals and 16 points between the two teams in 23 regular-season games then added four goals and six points in the SHL playoffs.
Versteeg, who turns 33 on May 13, had two separate stints with the Blackhawks from 2007-10 and 2014-15. Chicago acquired Versteeg from Boston in February 2007 for Brandon Bochenski.
