Kendall Coyne sought balance in her life.
Coyne, a USA Hockey Olympian, wanted to be dedicated to more than just her sport. Now, she finds herself dedicated to many, many things, including hockey.
She’s been playing professionally, making public appearances for the Blackhawks, working on a master’s degree, creating a life with her fiancé, Michael Schofield, who plays for the Denver Broncos, and training for the World Championship, which begins in Plymouth, Michigan on Friday.
On an evening in early March, the 24-year-old Coyle, a Chicago-area native, took a break from her crazy schedule to talk about her hockey roots, what drives her, why it’s important to be a spokesperson, the future of women’s hockey, her role with the Blackhawks and much more.
