Justin Kloos says all Minnesota-born hockey players dream of someday playing for the Gophers, then the Wild.
He was no different growing up.
That’s why Kloos, who ranks 28th on the University of Minnesota’s all-time scoring list, says he spurned other offers as a college free agent and signed with his hometown Wild last March.
“I saw opportunity here, too,” Kloos, 23, said hours before he was slated to make his NHL debut against the Vancouver Canucks.
With the Wild ravaged by injuries despite the fact Mikael Granlund is expected to return from a groin injury against the Canucks, Kloos is the latest Iowa Wild player to get a crack this season.
