Jonathan Toews expected to play Wednesday at St. Louis

Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews has missed the last five games with the mysterious “upper-body injury,” allegedly suffered in a 5-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche on March 20 that was his last outing.

But when the Hawks face the St. Louis Blues on the road on Wednesday night, Toews is expected to be back in the lineup, as coach Joel Quenneville told the media after Monday’s practice.

Hayden has been out with an upper-body injury since March 26 and doesn’t appear to be any closer to returning.

For Toews, it’s a chance to play out the final three games and continue the strong stretch of hockey he turned in during March.
