With the Blackhawks missing the playoffs for the first time since 2007-08, there has been rampant speculation about what changes will be made going into the offseason.
Here are two big ones that won't be: Stan Bowman and Joel Quenneville, both of whom will return to the Blackhawks next season, team president John McDonough announced on Thursday.
Quenneville, who is the second-winningest coach in NHL history, has two years left on his contract and is owed $12 million over that span.
The coach who has helped bring three Stanley Cups to Chicago deserves a chance at leading the second wave of talent, as does Bowman, who has assembled this roster with a big-picture view.
