The Blackhawks filled one of their two coaching openings Thursday by naming Jeremy Colliton as the Rockford IceHogs head coach.
Colliton, 32, was the head coach of Mora IK in Sweden’s second division, HockeyAllsvenskan, the past four seasons. He coached Mora IK to promotion to Sweden’s top division, the Swedish Hockey League, with a 35-4-13 record and 105 points during the 2016-17 season. He had a 98-18-15 record in his four seasons.
Prior to coaching, Colliton played eight seasons in the NHL and AHL. He played in 57 NHL games over five seasons with the New York Islanders.
