‘Jeopardy!’ answer hits home with Blackhawks’ Stanley Cup winner Nick Boynton

Nick Boynton recalled the best night of his NHL career while watching “Jeopardy!” on Thursday night.

In the “What’s the Score?” category the answer was “Blackhawks 4, Flyers 3. On June 9, 2010, enabling Chicago to hoist this for the first time since 1961.”

The former Chicago Blackhawks defenseman took to Twitter to joke about knowing the answer.

Boynton knew the correct response because he was on the ice for Patrick Kane’s overtime goal, which gave Chicago its first Stanley Cup in 49 years.

It’s one of the strangest, if not the strangest Cup-winning goals in history, as Kane’s shot slipped under the pad of Flyers goaltender Michael Leighton but few actually saw it go in at Wachovia Center.
