The Rockford IceHogs did not score the opening goal for the first time this season in a 5-0 loss as they were swept in a two-game weekend set by the Cleveland Monsters on Saturday afternoon at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse.
The IceHogs, the Blackhawks’ AHL affiliate, had plenty of opportunities to score though but they went 0-for-6 on the power play to fall to 0-for-28 on the man advantage this season. Rockford (2-4) allowed two power-play goals on six chances to the Monsters (5-3) and have allowed at least one goal on the man advantage each game this season.
