In May, the Supreme Court lifted the 25-year ban on sports betting outside of Nevada and now we're seeing a groundbreaking movement across all major sports.
After being against the idea of it in the past, the NHL announced on Monday that it has agreed to a multi-year relationship with MGM Resorts International, making them the league's first official sports betting partner.
“The new sports betting landscape presents a unique opportunity for fan engagement utilizing technology and data that are exclusive to our League,” NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said in a statement. ”As a leading global gaming operator and entertainment company, MGM Resorts is the perfect partner for us to begin our transformative entry into this space.
