With the NHL offseason in full swing, the league has seen a number of faces change teams. However, despite this, there are still a number of former Chicago Blackhawks that are without contracts.
A hallmark of the Blackhawks’ last decade has been shedding large contracts, particularly after a championship or a winning season. This is mostly due to the rising salary cap, and contractual issues have plagued the team since around 2010.
While many of the key players from this era, such as Brian Campbell and Patrick Sharp, have since retired from the game, some of them are still playing professionally.
