Former Chicago Blackhawk Michal Kempny wins Stanley Cup with Washington Capitals

Former Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Michal Kempny lifted the Stanley Cup after the Washington Capitals 4-3 win over the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final at T-Mobile Arena.

Kempny, 27, scored two goals with three assists in 24 playoff games for Washington.

Chicago signed Kempny as a free agent in May 2016 after he tallied seven goals and 18 assists in 71 games with Avangard Omsk in the KHL. In 81 games with the Hawks, he scored three goals with 12 assists.
