Former Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin announced his retirement from hockey Thursday with plans to manage in the KHL.
"I can officially declare that I have completed a career hockey player," Khabibulin told Russian news outlet Championat. "During the years of career I got a lot of experience, so I would like it as a use for the good of hockey. For example, as a manager in one of the clubs in the KHL."
Khabibulin, 42, is second behind Evgeni Nabokov in NHL career wins for a Russian goaltender (333 to 353).
